2 Men Killed in Truck Crash in Grant County

The police responded to a two-car crash in rural Grant County this morning. The accident happened at about 6 am on State Road 26. It took place not far from County Road 562. By the time police got there, the damage was done.

A man driving a 2009 Pontiac G8 was traveling East on State Road 26 early this morning. His name was Anthony Pence and he was from Muncie, Indiana. At the same time, 63- year old Garry Moore was traveling West on the same road. Moore was driving a 2018 Chevy Silverado and is from Elwood, Indiana.

For some reason, Pence lost control of his car and crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic. He ended up crashing into the pickup truck head-on. Typically, these accidents tend to be very serious. That proved to be the case in this crash as well.

By the time police arrived at the scene, both of the drivers had passed away from their injuries. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. There was no statement from either of their families.

The police are continuing their investigation. Thankfully, the crash happened early in the morning before the rush hour hit. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and nobody else was injured. There did not appear to be any passengers in either of the vehicles involved.

The police did not say that they suspect drugs or alcohol to have played a role in this crash. They are still looking to find out why Pence lost control of his car.
